Up-cycle your wardrobe for charity

I have only just heard about Under a Tree Clothing Exchange, happening TOMORROW, this Saturday 2 – 5pm 9th July 2011 at New Farm Primary School in Brisbane.

The instructions seem pretty simple.  Buy a ticket online for $30 or $35 at the door. Bring along up to 8 well-kept clothing items that are ready to be up-cycled for a new life.  These items can include hats, scarves, belts and shoes.  Items MUST be of good quality and something likely to be valued by others. No recycled knickers, trackie pants, swimwear etc! You will receive tokens for your items, enjoy a cuppa, maybe win some raffle prizes all before the big swap begins.

The raffle and a portion of all tickets sold goes towards Project Futures, which uses the funds to free children from sexual slavery in Cambodia.  Their March event raised enough to free four little girls from prostitution in Cambodia, which is an incredible result beyond words.

The more people who come along, the more clothes there are to swap, and therefore the more money raised for charity!  Please spread the word by retweeting this post or sharing to your facebook friends if you cant attend yourself.
