every dog has its day

Do you live in Brisbane and are looking for something to do this weekend with your four-legged friend? Guide Dogs Queensland are hosting OctoberFETCH at Pine Rivers Park Strathpine, Brisbane, from 10am this Sunday 2nd October 2011.

OctoberFETCH is a day out for dogs and dog-lovers, and will raise much-needed funds for Guide Dogs Queensland which has struggled for donations following the Queensland floods in January this year.

Earlier this year, Guide Dogs Queensland was forced to cancel its largest fundraising event ‘Pawknock’ which traditionally raised $250,000, when more than 75 per cent of the State was declared a disaster zone.

OctoberFETCH’s activities include a 4km Dog-a-thon fundraising walk, Guide Dog displays and puppy parades.  There will be kids rides, face painting, food, BBQ and drinks, competitions, prizes and more.

Participants in the dog-a-thon are encouraged to pre-register for the event for free (or $10 on the day) to receive your own fundraising page which can be sent to harass, err encourage family, friends and colleagues to make a donation.

So sign yourself and your pooch up for the 4km Dog-a-thon, and raise money for Guide Dogs Queensland. Click here to register for OctoberFETCH 2011.
