Attention #Brisbane ladies: grab a bra for a bargain and help a charity

Here I go again, I have said it before, and I will say it again: you DON’T have to be rich to be a philanthropist.  There are SO many simple ways that you can weave social kindness and giving into your everday life by just shifting the way you think or shop…

Imagine shopping for things you need, that were already going to buy, but instead a charity profits directly from your purchase…easy!

Well ladies of Brisbane, do I have something for you – do you need a new bra?  Every Saturday from 9am to 12 midday head to the Kelvin Grove markets in inner city Brisbane and pick up a brand new bra bargain.  Many are imported from USA, Sweden, Britain and brands include Triumph, Playtex, Berlei and Hot Milk (maternity bras).

100% of all bra sales go direct to Project Now who are building a new 20 bed residential women’s shelter in Red Hill Brisbane.

Watch a short youtube clip about the project here.

Seeing the desperate need for this type of facility for women, The Rotary Club of Brisbane Planetarium and The Salvation Army partnered to build this 20 bed residence for women recovering from drug alcohol and gambling addiction.  The Salvos donated the land and on completion of the new building for women, it will be given back to the Salvos to run a 10 month rehabilitation program for 20 women.

The Rotary Club of Brisbane Planetarium is an ATO approved charity and as all Rotarians are volunteers, therefore 100% of donations goes to the building.

Incredibly, Project Now have already raised $400,000 of the needed $750,000.

What can you do to help?

Come along to Kelvin Grove and buy a bra!  Send this post to a friend or you can make a direct donation to the cause by contacting the President of The Rotary Club of Brisbane Planetarium, Michelle Davis:
