GLAM It Up For Charity is a little charity dinner I started when I was on maternity leave – 15 years ago!
Working in the non profit sector, I come across amazing and inspiring causes every single day. GLAM has been a small way I can help those causes and charities that pull at my heart.
Usually the charity I choose helps vulnerable women and children, and I am very proud that this ‘little dinner’ has, over the years raised over $200,000 for Queensland charities.
Charities GLAM has supported over the years include Mummy’s Wish, Hummingbird House, Orange Sky Laundry, The Prince Charles Hospital, YWCA Encore Program, Olive McMahon House in Toowoomba, MND and Me, Mums For Refugees, Global Sisters, Romero Centre to name a few.
This year GLAM is actually a lunch, a loooong lunch at Mrs Brown’s Bar & Kitchen in Newstead, from 12 noon Thursday 28th October – conveniently the Thursday before the new Ekka long weekend.
Tickets are $150 pp plus booking fee and include a delicious banquet lunch, three hours of champagne /AIX rose / beer / wine and a $50 donation to Brisbane charity Suited to Success (who also run Dressed for Success) that help vulnerable people overcome barriers to employment.
Numbers are very limited, so get in quick if you are keen to come along. book your ticket here.
Dress theme is GLAM thrifted – this means op shop, something borrowed or something you already own. There will be a prize for best GLAM thrifted outfit!
#GLAM21 is also a great excuse to clear out your wardrobe! Suited To Success would love your preloved and quality clothes to use outfitting people for work or to sell in their shop. Get in touch with Tamara info@suitedtosuccess.org
Big love to everyone who support GLAM each year! And to Jacqui from White With One Graphic design who helps me every year, to Kym OGorman for looking after the GLAM website and to Mrs Brown’s Bar and Kitchen for having us!!!
Hope to see you there! X Tara

Well done
